Saturday 22nd May NEW PORT TOURS had the distinct pleasure of welcoming a group of Romania cruise guest to Copenhagen. The very generous owner of BRAMAC, a Romania roof tile company, had invited key employees and suppliers on at one week cruise of the Baltic See, starting and finishing the cruise in Copenhagen.

We picked up the group at the MSC Orchestra in the Copenhagen Harbour Langelinie and started of by doing at 45 min sightseeing tour of the Copenhagen City Center. There is quite a lot of major road work and construction going on in the city right now which meant that our very capable driver Jørgen had to use all his maneuvering skills to get us and the big bus round … he did a great job.

Then we drove to the Carlsberg Brewery grounds where we went on a 1 1/2 hours walking tour of the amazing area, saw the “secret garden” and all the other great places there. The 33 people group had a lot of fun when they all stepped onto the old industrial truck weight that used to weigh trucks going in and out of the brewery. I believe the group weighed in at about 2500 kilos.

After the visit to Carlsberg we headed to Frk. Barners Kaelder for a well deserved traditional Danish lunch. The menu was, marinated herring, fried fillet of fish, pork roast, cheese and of course Carlsberg beer. Going by the reactions from the group the lunch was a huge success. The day ended in the Copenhagen Airport heading back to Bucharest, Romania. On behalf of NEW PORT TOURS I would like to thank all of the Bramac people for at good day and I was a great pleasure hosting you here in Copenhagen.

Snow covered Carlsberg

elephantgateThese pictures were taken on Sunday the 31st January 2010. The last time we had this much snow at Carlsberg and in Copenhagen was all the way back in the mid 80′s. The snow covered buildings and area lends a certain charm to the place and you can almost sense how it must have been here at Carlsberg more than a 100 years ago, with horse carriages and workers milling around the place.  This is the first time for me to see the place like this and it is quite a sight I can tell you that.

I Showed a group of 10 British people around the place the day before and we ended up walking through 1 foot of snow in our ny_carlsbergsnickers in the Academy Garden, quite a sight, especially considering that half the group flew in from Dubai the night before. The change in temperature was dramatic to say the least, but they were all very good sports about i all.
